Studio Covid-19 Procedures

Picture
Updated Sept. 30, 2020
These procedures for in-person lessons will apply when in person lessons resume.  Please keep this in mind when considering in-person vs. remote lessons.

Do not to come to the piano studio if you have or have had in the past 14 days a cough, a fever, shortness of breath, difficulties breathing, flu-like symptoms, gastrointestinal upset, or experienced a loss of taste or smell.  If you have a known exposure, please do not attend an in-person lesson and switch to remote lessons until your quarantine period is over.  You will not be charged for missed lessons due to illness or quarantine, so do not come if you are ill in any way.  If it is obvious that you are ill, you will be asked to leave.  If you or a family member have been exposed to Covid-19, please do not come to the studio until you have completed a 14 day quarantine period.

Piano Studio

The pianos in the studio are now eight feet apart.  Maintaining a minimum six foot social distance will be expected inside the studio.  Do not bring food or drink into the studio.

The piano keyboards and any pencils used by the student will be cleaned between each lesson with a 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution.

There is a Blueair 603 whole-room hepa filtration unit in the piano studio, as well as upstairs.  The 603 is like the 605 currently offered on Amazon.  If you'd like to know more about these filtration units,
Amazon has a lot of information.

Face Masks & Hand Sanitizer

Everyone entering the studio must be wearing a properly fitting mask that covers both the nose and mouth.  Masks will be provided if you absolutely need one (until I run out!).  If you have forgotten your mask, knock and wait at the studio entrance, and I will bring one to you.  Please bring your own mask, they may not always be available and you will not be allowed to enter without one.  Do not attend your piano lesson if you or any member of your family are sick.  You will be asked to leave if you do.

Students need to continue to use hand sanitizer before and after each lesson.  Hand sanitizer will be located at the entrance and at each piano. If you aren't comfortable with the studio safety, please continue or consider remote lessons.

Lesson Times

Lessons will be scheduled with 15 minute breaks between students for calling in for remote lessons, and keyboard cleaning.  Only one student is allowed in the studio at a time.  Please wait in your car until your assigned lesson time, do not come in early and stay late.

If there is a Covid-19 exposure for any student, myself, or our immediate families, we will go online for a minimum of two weeks. In-person lessons may be discontinued and moved online only at any time, at the discretion of the teacher.  Students may also choose to move to online lessons at any time.

Waiting Room

The waiting room will be closed until further notice. Masks are required any time you are inside.  If you bring something into the studio, be sure to take it back out with you. The bathroom will be open for emergency use only.
