This student wanted a triple cheese pizza delivered fast, to eat fast, in the key of C, in 4/4 time. I'm hungry just thinking about this piece.
I think the title says it all! This is a late beginner piece with some challenging elements to figure out. You could go down to bass G in the L.H. in measure 52 instead of the tie.
I chose to write this piece in the key signature the student is currently working on in his lesson book, so there are some F#s written in as a reminder (but not all). I've also included two files with a metronome track to use for practice, again one a half step lower for those that need it.
Since I invested in some new piano studio equipment to move piano lessons online, it only made sense to use the new technology and learn new software. For those students taking summer lessons, I decided to write pieces for each student, using their suggestions when possible. These are just for fun, and short compositions for beginning students. Feel free to use any of these pieces as you wish! This first piece was a result of a student's request to have a piece about a Panda, with a baby panda, eating bamboo, a slow piece, but a playful piece. Challenge accepted! There are actually some pretty challenging aspects with the parallel 4ths. I would have continued the rhythmic pattern of the left hand throughout the piece, but was concerned it could cause hand tension to do so for a student at this level. You certainly could though. There is an opportunity to discuss inverted patterns in this piece also. Since this piece was "just for fun", I thought a short video would be helpful to encourage the student. I also added a simple percussion part that could be used as a metronome for practice purposes. I've discovered that many times, the student's acoustic piano at home is a half step flat (extremely common), so I've included a play-along version that is lowered a half step.

Since investing in new equipment to move piano lessons online during Covid-19, it only made sense to use my new technology investment in every way possible. These short pieces were written just for fun. Feel free to use any of these pieces as you wish. I've discovered that the student's acoustic piano at home is sometimes a half step flat, so I've included an mp3 version of each example that is lowered a half step.
